This mistake is pretty common!
With the advancement of diesel engine technologies, today’s diesel cars have quieter engines. Hence, it’s not uncommon to mistake one for its petrol counterpart. Adding to the woe, the petrol nozzle will actually fit into the modern diesel filler, thus causing misfueling in the first place.
DO NOT start the engine.
Call Loom Townz Motor Service for professional help. Upon contact, we’ll send a tow truck right away to our nearby garage. If that’s not possible, we can also offer roadside assistance.
This is even more bizarre but not impossible!
What makes this trickier to do is that the diesel nozzle simply won’t fit into the regular filler gap of a petrol engine car without applying some degree of force. But, mishaps happen, and oddly, a third of misfuel still fits into this category.
However, if you do find yourself in such a tricky situation, Do Not Panic! This is less catastrophic actually. That doesn’t mean you will start the engine, as diesel can cause some degree of damage to your petrol engine if you circulate it. This can be worse for direct-injection vehicles.
Once again, you need to make a call to Loom Townz Motor Service to arrange for your fuel tank to be completely drained.
